The applause and accolades I used to receive post my performances continues to positively reinforce my career of choice.
3. From where did you learn acting? Also, according to you – self- learning or Learning from an expert. Which is more important?
Aakanksha : I did a course with “Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares” which helped me widen my range as an actor as it taught me the importance of controlling once breath, voice modulations, giving the appropriate facial expressions, correct body language etc.
I treat acting as a skill and my personal belief is that, just like we learn another skill-sets like music, dance, martial arts etc. from a trained expert. Similarly, one should also either enroll oneself with an acting institute or do a workshop or join a theater group, etc. to hone their acting skills, but while working onsets or preparing for a specific role/character.
Self learning is equally important as you will be having multiple avenues to observe and learn from the best co-actors on set and if you are not receptive and observant, your growth as an actor will be painfully slow.
