ANUSHA JAIN – Is an actress, writer and creator. She is doing great work as an individual creator. Anusha has also acted in the videos of different content creation networks.
1. What is your birthplace?
Anusha – Jaipur, The Pink City.
2. How do you find an interest in acting and content creation?
Anusha – It’s only recently that I’ve realized if there is something that comes naturally to me, its acting. What could be better than realizing this life? I don’t take acting as a job, I really, really enjoy it. Dramas, characters, plays, stories, I’ve always loved them.
And I’m an over thinker, so I guess that helps in content creation. Ideas come flowing to my brain. Sometimes I cannot even sleep because I am so excited to bring about a hilarious idea into this world.
3. From where did you learn Acting? Also, according to you – self- learning or Learning from an expert. Which is more important?
Anusha – As a child, my life from 8pm to 11pm was daily soaps. Growing up I have been a Bollywood buff. Every girl is taught how to act in front of the world so a little bit from there as well. And yes, I‘ve completed one semester of theatre at college. I believe both self learning and learning from an expert are essential as the process, outcome and the journey of the two are quite different.
4. What do you feel about the emerging trend of web series?
Anusha – Though it has hit the pockets of a section of the industry, I feel its quite customer- centric. It offers convenience, binge watching and a huge variety at a very minimal cost, a good bargain for a young target audience. Creative liberty being a boon for the creator. Rising competition gives rise to quality content, again a pro, but it could also lead to saturation.
5. Which is your favorite show, video, or series in which you have acted?
Anusha – The School Diaries by The Screen Patti was my second video with them in which I had acted. The first time I was so paranoid. But the second time, was so much fun because by then I knew some co-actors and people there. I was much more confident. It was a classroom shoot so a lot of fun scenes were there and it made me all nostalgic about my childhood. I really enjoyed that shoot a lot.
I also got to learn so much professionally about direction, the lights, the entire prep. Every minute of it, I just kept saying to myself, “What if you could do this forever, Anu?”
6. Do you have any dream role?
Anusha – A role in a Zoya Akhtar movie.
7. Do you have role models?
Anusha – My parents, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Irfan Khan, Deepika Padukone, Lillysingh, Jitendra Kumar & MS Dhoni.
8. Which is your favorite genre?
Anusha – Comedy. I feel comedy is really difficult and underrated as a genre. Just imagine meme’s from Priyadarshan’s movies, going on for more than 20 years. I also enjoy creating creative comedy, that’s more like my genre.
9. What was the first reaction of your family when you told them that you want to choose acting as your profession?
Anusha – If they had to say it in dialogue format, it would be this “Tum humse humari Jaan maang lete, tumne to humara guroor hi cheen Liya“. My parents, perhaps may take some time to trust the digital industry and acting as a field.
Till then my passion is just a hobby for them that I like to practice every day. I respect the difference in their and my opinion because of the age gap, but honestly, I don’t want to regret not giving it a try because after all, If I want to give my entire life to something, it better be something I enjoy doing. I know my parents, if they see me happy, passionate and successful someday, Abba–Mumma can change.
10. Apart from acting do you have an interest in sports or any other field?
Anusha – I love dancing, I like psychology and I enjoy styling. And I love to travel, like love love to travel.
11. What is your biggest dream?
Anusha – A world tour with my family. I can trade anything for this. When it comes to travelling I am Bunny from YJHD, If I could, I would travel all my life. Even to earn, I would travel. I love love love travelling.
12. What are your upcoming projects?
Anusha – There are a few feelings, observations and situations in life that I have grown up with. My upcoming projects are going to reflect the perspective I have developed from them. Some things that I’ve always wanted to speak up about, in my own creative way.
