1.Your early life info like – birthplace, school, college, degree?

Shreya – I was born in the city of joy, Kolkata. Did my schooling from Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan(BSS). I pursued Journalism and Mass communication (honors) from Shri Shikshayatan College.

2. How do you find an interest in acting?

Shreya – Since, childhood, I have always found an interest in performing. Participated in many school and college fests, annual functions, plays. I have always loved watching movies, plays. It inspired me. So, this interest took shape gradually.

3. According to you – self- learning or learning from an expert. Which one has more impact?

Shreya – I feel that they are both equally important. Self- learning has its own depth. We learn so much from our experiences and observations. Similarly, learning from an expert/teacher has also got a lot of impact. We acquire a lot of knowledge from their experiences. Guidance, from a teacher, has been always valuable.

4. Chasing your dream was difficult?

Shreya – When you are chasing your dreams, it doesn’t come easy. For me, my parents have been very supportive.

5. In such a cutthroat competition what is your USP?

Shreya – There’s no such USP but whenever I play a character I try to live it, feel it and enjoy it overall.

6. What do you feel about the emerging trend of web series? And do you like to do a web series?

Shreya – Web series is giving so much scope for so many talented directors, writers, and actors to create varied content. I absolutely love the trend of web series. Of course, I would like to be a part of a web series soon.

7. Which is your favorite genre?

Shreya – I like romance and romantic comedy a lot. I also enjoy other genres like fiction, thriller, documentaries, adventure.

8. Which is the favorite Film, Series, or Videos in which you have acted?

Shreya – I won’t be able to judge which is my favorite video I have acted in. But yeah, there are a few characters, I loved playing-

1. Nandini (Hum Fees Chuke Sanam) TVF.

2. Phoebe (If Friends were made in India) Filtercopy.

3. Rhea (Saavdhan patrol) TSP.

9. Do you have any dream role?

Shreya – I admire Rose in Titanic a lot. That would be one of my dream role.

10. To whom you look up to? Any role model?

Shreya – My parents are my role model. They are my strength.

11. What was the first reaction of your family when you told them that you want to choose acting as your profession?

Shreya – My parents were aware of my inclination towards acting and dance since my childhood. So, it did not come as a surprise to them. They have been very encouraging.

12. Is your family being supportive when you told them that you want to become an actor? If not, then how did you convince?

Shreya – Yes, my family has been very supportive. I am grateful to my parents and sister for believing in me.

13. Do you ever think of directing web series, movies or writing, movies, series, or a novel?

Shreya – Not now, but maybe later, I would like to direct something.

14. Apart from acting do you have an interest in sports or any other field?

Shreya – I am a dancer apart from being an actor. I am trained in Bharatanatyam. I have played, table tennis in school. Always loved tennis. Travelling is one of my biggest interests and love.

15. Share some suggestions for the upcoming beginners of your stream?

Shreya – There’s a quote –

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” 

So, I would say keep working hard. You might come across many obstacles and hurdles on your way, but never give up. Learn from your mistakes. Surround yourself with positive people. And always stay connected to your roots. Most importantly, believe in yourself.

16. What is your biggest dream?

Shreya – I am living one right now.

17. What are your upcoming projects?

Shreya – Web sketches.
