1. Your early life info like – birthplace, school, college, degree?

Samridhi – Delhi, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Miranda House (Delhi University) where I graduated in BA English Hons. After which I went to The Drama School, Mumbai for one year course in Acting on Stage.

2. How Do you find an interest in acting?

Samridhi – I started performing when I was in school. I started dancing first, and then switched to school plays and at some point, I lived only for the inter-school drama or dance competitions.

These competitions allowed me to go to school and not really go at all! In college, I was in Ariel’s, the drama society and had the chance to work with very talented directors who inspired me and played a part in introducing the possibility of studying stagecraft more closely.

3. From where did you learn acting? And according to you – self- learning or Learning from an expert. Which one has more impact?

Samridhi – I was a part of the first batch ever in The Drama School, Mumbai, which is a One year-long course dedicated to acting for the stage.

It gave me a lot of skill and more belief in my work and more than anything made me fall in love with acting, and I knew for sure that I wanted to pursue it as a career.

Self-learning is great too and very important for all actors. I have met a lot of very talented actors who are not trained. I think both ways work as long as you can see yourself grow.

4. Chasing your dream was difficult?

Samridhi – It’s hard to get work in Mumbai. There’s too less opportunity and too many takers. It’s a struggle to keep afloat if you don’t have support. But I love the job enough to trust that if I have patience and keep improving my skill, good work will come! Some days I do think I’m delusional, but still never enough to make me give up!

5. In such a cutthroat competition what is your USP?

Samridhi – That’s for me to know and you to find out!

6. What do you feel about the emerging trend of web series?

Samridhi – It’s great! It has brought more opportunities for actors and is somehow more reachable for unconnected newbies than films are. The content is interesting and allows for more scope to build and explore characters because you have a longer run time.

7. Which is your favorite genre?

Samridhi – I can watch just about anything and have a tendency to get addicted and binge. And I’d love to explore all genres as an actor as well. More recently, however, I feel like I would like to be in a verbose dark comedy or anything I get to throw punches in.

8. Which is favorite show, video or series in which you have acted?

Samridhi – I’ve been in Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, Imperfect, and The Office in which I’ve played the meatier more substantial parts. They have all been different from each other, and I’ve had a blast being at all. Except maybe, I was more nervous when I was shooting Stories.. It was my first ever proper camera job.

9. Do you have any dream role?

Samridhi – Many, many dream roles. I’d like to play Harry Potter, but it’s already been done. I’d also like to be a Marvel Superhero or be in a full-fledged action film.

10. To whom you look up to? Any role model?

Samridhi – Can’t Pick one.

11. What was the first reaction of your family when you told them that you want to choose acting as your profession?

Samridhi – I only told them that I wanted to go to theater school for fun. And if I didn’t like it, it would be like a gap year, and I’d switch fields to something else. So, I never told them I wanted to be an actor because I didn’t know what I wanted to be one for a long time.

12. Do you ever think of writing or directing videos, web series or movies?

Samridhi – I don’t know enough yet to think about directing for the camera. But I do think about directing for stage sometimes, but it’s a scary thought. Maybe in the future.

13. Apart from acting do you have an interest in sports or any other field?13.

Samridhi – I love to dance. I love to swim. I wish I could sing and want to start learning.

14. Share some suggestions for the upcoming beginners of your stream?

Samridhi – Patience is key. I struggle with it but it’s important.

15. What is your biggest dream?

Samridhi – Too big and will sound stupid.

16. What are your upcoming projects?

Samridhi – You’ll see me in a short film in which I play a boxer! Very exciting! You will also see more of Pammi.
